Yukari Shiraishi (白石 友香里, Shiraishi Yukari) is first introduced in The New Prince of Tennis Special 1, The Night Before the Invitation. She is the younger sister of Shitenhoji's captain, Shiraishi Kuranosuke.
Appearance[]
Yukari has darker brown hair in comparison to her older brother's hair. She has bangs and was only shown in short pigtails so far.
Personality[]
Yukari appears to care about the Shiraishi family's pet beetle Kaburiel. She does research about them and then tells her older brother things he needs to know about taking care of Kaburiel. She was also the one who brought her brother the magazine with the announcement regarding the “My Kabu-chan is the Best Cup.
History[]
Prior To U-17 Camp[]
Yukari enters her older brother's room right when he is admiring Kaburiel the rhinoceros beetle. Yukari, holding a book on rhinoceros beetles, tells Kuranosuke that rhinoceros beetle do not survive winter, which causes her older brother to tear up. When Kuranosuke raises the temperature to 25°C (the best one to keep rhinoceros beetles in), she shrieks at him that the room is too hot.
Etymology[]
- The name Yukari means "friend, companion, pal" (友) (yu), "fragrance, fragrant" (香) (ka) and "village" (里) (ri).
- Yukari's surname Shiraishi means "white" (白) (shira) and "stone, volume measure" (石) (ishi).

- Yukari appeared in the PairPuri prior to her appearance in The New Prince of Tennis OVA 1
- According to the PairPuri, Yukari is 13 years old making her either a 1st or 2nd Year Middle Schooler (it is not specified)
- It is not specified whether or not Yukari attends Shitenhoji with her older brother or not
- Despite being younger than Kuranosuke, Yukari calls him "Ku-chan".
