Before the World Cup, the teams face off in exhibition matches to appeal to the sponsors. Japan's opponent are the nine times champions, Germany. Eager to test their strength against the top, Watanabe and Fuji take on German reps Bismarck and Siegfried.

After securing the opening point with a Duke Homerun and sending Siegfried into the stands, the match turns into a 1 vs 2 with Bismarck facing the Japanese by himself. Using the Spinless Sway Ball, he keeps Watanabe at bay, however, Fuji's new technique, Hollyhock Blizzard, explodes to keep Japan in the match.
