Tonpei Hirari (平理 とん平, Hirari Tonpei) is a minor highschool character in the New Prince of Tennis anime adaption.
Background[]
Appearance[]
Hirari has strawberry blonde hair with blue eyes. Most of the time, he is seen wearing the U-17 jersey.
Personality[]
Hirari appears to be close friends with Tenjin Kosuke as the two of them are regularly seen together and call each other bro' despite not being related.
History[]
U-17 Camp[]
Hirari makes his first appearance at the start of the series with close friend Tenjin. They appear to be playing a role similar to what Arai did in the original series- the ball and can scene, but towards the entire Seigaku tennis team. They are shocked that they are able to hit the cans with tennis balls.
During the ball drop, he and Tenjin are not able to get balls. However, Ootori gives a ball each to them, causing the two 2nd year high schoolers to respect Ootori a lot.
Later in A Day To Remember he appears with Tenjin Kosuke offering to help Ootori practice. They become overwhelmed by his Neo Scud Serve and give up. They go to a nearby vending machine and then discuss Ootori's power.

Since he is in more of the lower Courts in the U-17 camp, along with Kosuke, he cannot play tennis very well despite the fact that he is a highschooler.
