Parentage[]
Does anyone know which of his parents was Japanese and which Brazilian? --Gwern (contribs) 02:03 6 August 2011 (GMT) 02:03, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
- It's never said I don't think, but since his surname is Japanese his mother is most likely Brazilian.--Bobbycat1 05:19, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I have run into many anime/manga cases where the surname did not match up with what the father's nationality actually was, so I was hoping for more direct and conclusive information. --Gwern (contribs) 14:44 6 August 2011 (GMT) 14:44, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
- I've looked around and so far the only thing that I've read that says anything about his lineage is that it's from his maternal lineage, so aka his mother. I got it from a pretty reliable site I use for Prince of Tennis information.--Bobbycat1 07:45, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
- To make sure we are talking about the same thing - that site says Jackal's mother was Brazilian and he inherited his surname from his Brazilian mother rather than his Japanese father? --Gwern (contribs) 13:51 7 August 2011 (GMT) 13:51, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
- It only states that he "comes from a mixed Brazilian heritage from his maternal lineage", it does not say anything about his father except that he is currently unemployed and is looking for a job. I'm pretty sure it's basic martial surname change with his mother taking the name of Jackal's father. Konomi probably would have said so if otherwise as it doesn't seem to be the case with Rinko, Ryoma's mom.--Bobbycat1 20:16, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
Name[]
Is his name Jackal Kuwahara in Japanese or Kuwahara Jackal because going by kanji his surname is Jackal, not Kuwahara. ShikiKira (talk) 02:35, May 31, 2013 (UTC)
Characters with Western heritage usually have their names introduced in the Western style. Like Richard and Jackal. And even Ryoma in the anime. DarkRank1 (talk) 08:09, October 30, 2015 (UTC)
