“ | France's Camus is a creative tactician. With his entry, there will probably be a huge shift in how tennis is played around the world. | ” |
— QP about Camus
|
Background[]
Leopold Camus de Charpentier is a professional tennis player and captain from France U-17.
Appearance[]
He has long curly hair. He shares some resemblance to Byodoin (minus his facial scars) and Reinhardt. The only difference is he that he looks a bit more feminine with his hairstyle.
Personality[]
He is known to be a very clever tactician, so much so that others believe that he alone will be able to somehow shift how professional tennis is played on a global scale. During the exhibition match between Germany and Japan, he was somehow able to perceive the fact that, despite Volk playing in the last match, it wasn't going to be a blowout victory like many would assume.
History[]
Prior to the U-17 World Cup[]
In the anime, Camus was present during the lottery shuffle for picking opponents together with Tristan Bardot.
Pre-World Cup[]
He is audience to the Germany vs Japan Pre-World Cup match. He comments on how Duke disappeared from the France U-17 team from that point on.
During the third doubles match, one of the French representatives says to Camus that it seems like Germany is going to crush Japan and that they should start to head back. Camus, meanwhile, gives some exposition on Volk, saying that Volk hasn't lost a single match since turning pro the previous year.
Final 16[]
He plays in singles 2 and utterly defeats his opponent without losing a single game. At the conclusion of the match, Camus himself kneels in the middle of the court, holding his racket in his arms and shedding tears. Someone comments that it's more like watching a drama than tennis.
Playing Styles & Techniques[]
He was mentioned to be really creative in tennis. Byoudouin explains that Camus' strength comes from his "love for tennis", and that because he loves tennis so much, he can hear the voice of tennis. He has an aura that forms the shape of a heart.
Love: Camus whispers to the tennis ball, softly kisses it and drops it. Releasing the ball in midair, his whole body covers his heart like a wall with an aura. The spectators are overwhelmed by the passionate attack.
Quotes[]
- Tennis has no national borders.
- It seems Germany really wants to decimate Japan.
