Tanaka Kouhei is the younger of Tanaka twins of Josei Shonan who only appear in the anime of Prince of Tennis, in which they prefer to be called a Unit. He has superior hearing ability and body vision, making he and his twin the perfect doubles team. However, they tend to be overconfident and underestimate their opponents.

He has relatively long dark blue hair that is tied up into a high ponytail and has somewhat of a feminine appearance. A trait he shares with his twin brother. They are often mistaken as girls due to their appearance.

Etymology[]
- The name Kōhei means "prosperous" (浩) (kō) and "flat, broad, level, even, peaceful" (平) (hei).
- Kōhei's surname Tanaka means "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta) and "middle" (中) (naka), which literally means "dweller in the rice fields" altogether.
Trivia[]
- In the movie, Atobe's Gift, he and his older brother, Yōhei Tanaka, are shown to possess an certain level of vocal musical talent as they held a concert together at the Super Tennis Festival.
- Kōhei and his brother only exist in the anime. In the manga, he is not on the Josei Shonan's regular team sheet.
