— Jean Fitzgerald
|
Background[]
Jean Fitzgerald is the captain of the Australian U-17 World Cup Team. He is from Tasmania.
Appearance[]
He has a chubby face with blonde hair. He has light beard. He also has a buff body packed with muscles.
Personality[]
He is an honest person. When Dorgias know the team cannot win without his advice, Jean bows down to Dorgias and apologizes and asks him to continue to help Australia conquer the world.
He throws himself away and serves the team!! Jean is burdened himself with the expectations of being from the host country. In order to lead the team, he honours politeness.
He even shows politeness to the arrogant Dorgias. Jean’s true intention is trusting in the potential Dorgias holds.
History[]
Prior to the Pre World Cup Exhibition Match[]
In the anime, Jean is one of the players that Byodoin noticed during the Lottery Shuffle. Byodoin introduced them to Oishi as the Home Team.
Group League[]
He is scheduled to play in doubles 2 alongside his teammate, Chris Hoppman, against Seiichi Yukimura and Genichirō Sanada.
While 5-1 games ahead, Chris eventually loses his sense of touch, leaving Jean to defend on his own. Jean is unable to return Black Dragon, therefore they lose the next 6 games.
Playing Styles & Techniques[]
He is the captain but he is not the strongest player on the team. He is an excellent defensive player. Noah Dorgias suggested the first doubles match should be played by defensive players since the Japanese team would most likely be offensive players. Jean fits this strategy.
His slice serve makes the opponent run horizontally, he emphasizes on returning low defense balls. With his textbook-like defense, he leads Australia to victory.
According to the Official Fanbook Volume 23.5, he is a right-handed counter-puncher.
