Prince of Tennis Wiki

This technique (or "aura") and hints of its potential is first shown in the series by Ryoma in Chapter 231 of the original Prince of Tennis manga. However, it was unveiled much earlier during Ryoma's informal match against Tezuka, as shown in the flashback next chapter.

Known Inner Selves[]

  • Oni is the first person to use the technique, 2 years prior to the storyline, in his match against Byoudouin Houou. His form takes the form of a demon god. Oni's name means Demon.
  • Two years later, Byodoin's own Inner Self takes the form of a skeletal Pirate, first shown in his rematch with Tokugawa. He is described as "Pirate of Japan".
  • Ryoma's own Inner Self takes on the form of a samurai, greatly resembling his father, Nanjiro Echizen. He is know as "Samurai Junior".
  • Ludovic Chardard has his own in the form of a knight.
  • Akaya Kirihara uniquely has 2 inner selves in the form of a demon and angel.
