They are ranked as 3rd in the U-17 World Cup Ranking.

2 Years Prior to the Storyline[]
Duke Watanabe was one of France's best tennis players. After witnessing Byodoin save his younger sister's life, the two battled it out in singles 1. After Duke won, he abandoned France's team and joined Japan's team ever since.
