In the anime, Chris is one of the players that Byodoin noticed during the Lottery Shuffle. He is with his doubles partner and captain, Jean Fitzgerald. Byodoin introduced them to Oishi as the Home Team.

He is scheduled to play in doubles 2 alongside his captain, Jean Fitzgerald, against Seiichi Yukimura and Genichirō Sanada.
While 5-1 games ahead, he eventually loses his sense of touch, leaving Jean to defend on his own. Jean is unable to return Black Dragon, therefore they lose the next 6 games.

He, like his captain, is an excellent defensive tennis player. Jean commented that he has strong legs and he is fast. However, he has low mental since he was easily a victim of Yips, losing both his hearing and sense of touch.

He can shake up the opponent with his strong leg power and his reflexes, and maintain it for long times because of his stamina. No one would have talked about constructing Australia’s iron wall if Chris wasn’t there.
As a rear guard he covers the captain. Their diverse battle formations are also perfect.
He covers a really extensive area with his body strength. Because of this covering power, he made a name for himself since middle school.
