Ridel was quite arrogant. Although he knew he was a superior player to Maxwell and that his tennis ability did not meet with his own, he was still also quickly defeated by Ryoma.

C. Ridel quickly defeated by Ryoma
Truman, along with C. Ridel appear to Ryoma after Maxwell is defeated by Ryoma's hands. He arrogantly states that Maxwell's abilities aren't up to their standard. However, both of them are quickly defeated by Ryoma.
In the anime, he only had a short appearance, being quickly defeated by Ryoma.

- C. Ridel is the 3rd African-American player introduced in the manga after Dudu Obandu and Maxwell, and the 4th in the anime.
- He had no lines in the anime, together with S. Truman as compared in the manga.
