Lyrics[]

Umi no aosa ni sora no ao
Minami no kaze ni midoriba no
Bashou ha nasake ni te wo maneku
tokonatsu no kuni washita shima Uchinaa

Shuri no koshou no ishidatami
Mukashi wo shinobu katahotori
Minoreru bashou ureteita
Midoriba no shita washita shima Uchinaa

Ima ha mukashi no Shuitin jyanashi
Tou wouutsumugi hata wo ori
Jyouu no usasageta Bashoufu
Asajikunji no washita shima Uchinaa
washita shima Uchinaa

Trivia[]

  • This song is a cover of an modern Okinawan folk song by Rimi Natsukawa.
  • Like the other songs on this album, not only is it a cover, but the song heavily features Ryukyuan language and Okinawan dialect.
  • The tile of the song "Basho Nuno" uses the Okinawan word for cloth "nuno", as opposed to the Japanese "fu" even though it is pronounced the Japanese way in the song.
  • The title of the song refers to the Musaceae "banana" trees, which were grown and harvested in Okinawa when it was still a kingdom. The plant's fibers were used for weaving and played a major role in the industry at the time.
